Snow in NYC

The week after Hurricane Sandy swept through the city, it snowed. It was very weird to have such two weather extremes. And the awful part was there were (and are still) people in parts of New York and New Jersey that didn't have power. So to have it snow on top of the issues they were already facing was probably like salt on an open wound. Luckily the snow only lasted like two days. For us on the Upper West Side, where we were not badly affected by the storm, the snow was sort of fun. Well for me it was. I went outside that night to tromp in it for a bit. My roommate, who is from Canada and sees enough snow in one winter to last a lifetime, was pretty amused by my fascination. Below are some pictures from the few days.
Snow falling Wednesday afternoon. I'm standing on the balcony at the apartment complex where I nanny.
